A display of panels on the mining history of Příbram
An outdoor panel exhibition dedicated to mining in Příbram has opened on T. G. Masaryk Square in Příbram. The history that shaped the entire town and its inhabitants is thus returning to the streets.
The exhibition, which is on display from today at T. G. Masaryk Square, tells the story of Příbram as one of Europe’s most important mining centres. The outdoor exhibition commemorates not only technical achievements and world records, but also the everyday lives of miners, their traditions and the extraordinary moments that have marked the region. Through ten themed panels, visitors will learn about the development of mining, mining symbols, festivals, the lives of miners’ families and the importance of local mining education.
“The exhibition serves as an invitation to this year’s major event – the 30th Meeting of Mining Towns and Villages of the Czech Republic and the 19th European Day of Miners and Metallurgists, which will take place in Příbram from 12 to 14 June 2026. The town is thus symbolically preparing for a weekend when it will come alive with mining traditions, festive parades and a rich programme of accompanying events,” says the town’s mayor, Jan Konvalinka.
The outdoor exhibition is open to the public and will be on display on T. G. Masaryk Square for around three weeks. It will then be moved to 17 November Square, where it will remain on display until mid-June.
