The town of Příbram is establishing a partnership with the Příbram prison

This year, prisoners from Příbram Prison will be taking part in seasonal work organised by Technical Services. The details of the planned collaboration are currently being finalised.

Deputy Mayor Miroslav Peterka is discussing the details of the collaboration with Zbyněk Červený, Director of Příbram Prison. The plan is for prisoners from this facility to assist with town maintenance as part of Technical Services.

“We are finalising the terms of the collaboration with the management of Příbram Prison, under which 5–10 prisoners are expected to be involved in work for Příbram Technical Services. Naturally, only those inmates whom the Prison Service deems fit to work in unguarded workplaces will be involved in the work,” says Deputy Mayor Peterka. 

The town has previously collaborated with the prison, primarily on work to revitalise the Nový rybník site. The details of this new collaboration are now being finalised. 

“We greatly value the cooperation between Příbram Prison and the town. We anticipate that the involvement of prisoners in the upkeep of green spaces and the cleaning of public areas will prove to be meaningful and beneficial – not only for improving the city’s environment, but also as an important step towards maintaining work habits and fostering a sense of responsibility among the prisoners themselves,” adds Zbyněk Červený, Director of Příbram Prison.
