The Příbram Municipal Police are once again offering forensic marking of bicycles and scooters this year
From April, the Příbram Municipal Police are launching a forensic marking scheme for bicycles using synthetic DNA. The marking service will be provided free of charge to the town’s residents. An appointment must be made in advance by telephone.
For the ninth year running, the Příbram Municipal Police has been offering a service to the town’s residents whereby bicycles, scooters and wheelchairs are marked with synthetic DNA. A microdot containing the owner’s details is applied to the items, which will facilitate the identification of the rightful owner should the item be stolen.
The forensic marking of items will take place from April at the Příbram Municipal Police station, but only by prior appointment by calling 775 855 565.
The application of the synthetic DNA itself takes around 30 minutes. Each marked item is recorded in the REFIZ national forensic marking register and labelled with a sticker indicating that it is easily identifiable. In addition to the bicycle or scooter to be marked, you will need to bring proof of identity and documents proving ownership of the item to be marked.
