The public toilets in Jiráskovy sady have been refurbished

Public toilets in the centre of old Příbram have reopened after several months. They will be open seven days a week, from 7 am to 6 pm.

Jiráskovy sady is the largest transport hub, and the public toilets there – which had been closed for a long time due to renovation work – were sorely missed, particularly by commuters. Since 5 February, the toilets have been accessible again following extensive refurbishment, daily from 7 am to 6 pm. 

“Ensuring the availability of public toilets in this area was a priority for the city. We held negotiations with the property owner, which ultimately resulted in an agreement on the operation of this much-needed facility. The public toilets have been refurbished and the public can once again make full use of them, even though scaffolding is still in place on part of the building. The refurbishment has been a success, and I am delighted that this facility is now available to the public in the city centre,” says Deputy Mayor Miroslav Peterka. 

The public toilets are in the same location as they were previously. Entry is controlled by a turnstile, which opens once a fee of 20 Kč has been paid. “Entry can be paid for in cash or by card,” adds Deputy Mayor Peterka. 

Under the contract signed with the building’s owner, it has been agreed that the facilities will be open during the hours specified above, namely from Monday to Sunday, 7 am to 6 pm. The town will pay a monthly fee of 74,415 Kč (including VAT) for the operation of the toilets, on the understanding that the operator carried out the renovation work and will be responsible for maintenance, cleaning and the overall running of the public toilets for the duration of the contract.
