Svatohorská Avenue is to be resurfaced
Svatohorská alej is the access road to Svatá Hora. From 24 March, roadworks will begin on the section starting from Balbínova Street.
The reconstruction of Svatohorská alej is the title of the public contract for which the city invited tenders under the Dynamic Purchasing System (DNS) for the construction, repair and maintenance of roads. The contract has been awarded, the agreement signed, and the actual works will begin in the second half of March, during which the existing road surface will be replaced.
“The access road to Svatá Hora – specifically the section from Balbínova Street – is in a poor state of repair, with only localised repairs to potholes having been carried out over the long term. As part of this project, the asphalt surface will be removed and the road will be paved with 10x10 cm granite paving stones. This is a change that makes sense to us, given the historical significance of the site,” says First Deputy Mayor Vladimír Karpíšek.
Whilst the works are underway – which will commence with the handover of the construction site on Tuesday 24 March – Svatá Hora will not be served by bus services and all routes will terminate at the ‘Příbram, Svatá Hora’ on Balbínova Street. The work is expected to be completed by the end of May this year.
A total of six companies tendered for the contract, with Strabag SIS, a. s. submitting the lowest bid and being awarded the contract to carry out the renovation. The tender price of 4,685,541 CZK (including VAT) is almost two million crowns lower than the estimated cost.
The dynamic purchasing system is a modern electronic tool for awarding public contracts, which enables more efficient contract management. It is an open form of procurement to which further participants can join on an ongoing basis. The aim of the system is to simplify the awarding of public contracts. Thanks to the straightforward process, contracts are also accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises.
The town of Příbram has implemented a Dynamic Purchasing System:
- for the construction, repair and maintenance of roads in the town of Příbram, which currently includes 16 suppliers,
- for the repair and maintenance of buildings owned by the town of Příbram, where 13 contractors are currently registered,
- for the construction, repair and maintenance of the town of Příbram’s water management infrastructure, where 17 contractors are currently registered.
The City of Příbram introduced the dynamic purchasing system in 2020.
