Programme of the Miners’ Festival

From 12 to 14 June, Příbram will host a mining festival featuring parades, concerts, and tours of museums and sites that are not normally open to the public. On Friday 12 and Saturday 13 June, public transport in Příbram will be free of charge.

“The Miners’ Festival is being held in Příbram for the first time in ten years. The event is linked to the 30th Meeting of Mining Towns and Villages of the Czech Republic – an initiative launched by Příbram itself thirty years ago – and the 19th European Day of Miners and Metallurgists. This is a truly major event, with some 1,200 members of miners’ and metallurgists’ associations from Bohemia and abroad currently registered to attend. Preparations for the event have been underway for about a year, and you can look forward to a packed programme, which will include traditional parades – the so-called ‘miners’ parades’ – as well as a stage programme featuring performances by popular musicians. You can attend a miners’ mass, and a programme will also be organised at the Příbram Mining Museum, where a new exhibition of works by Jan Čáka will be on display. As part of the weekend programme, museums will be open – including, of course, the Příbram Mining Museum – and a guided tour has also been organised at the Kovohutě Příbram Metallurgical Museum. The Saturday programme also includes tours of the Diamo State Enterprise Archive in Brod and the Mine Water Treatment Plant in Dubenec,” says Mayor Jan Konvalinka, inviting people to the Miners’ Festival.

You can find the full programme for the miners’ festival and practical advice on the website: hornickesetkani.cz.
