Miners’ Festival – traffic restrictions and free public transport

As part of the miners’ festival taking place in Příbram from 12 to 14 June, please be aware that there will be traffic restrictions and road closures. Given the scale of the event, Příbram’s public transport will run free of charge on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 June.

This coming weekend, Příbram will host the Miners’ Festival, which is linked to the 30th Meeting of Miners’ Towns and Villages of the Czech Republic and the 19th European Day of Miners and Metallurgists. The festivities are expected to attract around 1,200 registered participants from mining and metallurgical associations across the Czech Republic and six European countries. In addition, the general public is, of course, also expected to attend. 

“An event of this scale takes place in the town once every ten years, and whilst we can certainly look forward to some enjoyable experiences, we must also expect some complications, particularly regarding transport. We can expect road closures along the parade routes, parking restrictions in the areas where the programme will take place, and, of course, we must also expect all public car parks to be busier than usual. “To ensure that both residents and visitors can enjoy the celebrations without having to drive round and round looking for free parking spaces, Příbram’s public transport will be free on 12 and 13 June,” says Mayor Jan Konvalinka.

Public transport:
Příbram public transport will operate free of charge on 12 and 13 June. As part of the cultural programme and parades, the routes of certain bus services will be adjusted at specific times.

503 + 508 (closure of J. A. Alise Square from 11 June (3 pm) to 14 June (midnight)) – to the ‘Příbram, Hornických učňů’ stop as normal; from there, directly via Politických vězňů Street – Kladenská Street – K Dolu Marie Street – Rožmitálská Street, then continuing on its usual route and returning in the opposite order. The following stops are cancelled: Příbram, Březové Hory, Mariánská; Příbram, Březové Hory, náměstí; Příbram, Březové Hory, domov seniorů. The following stop is introduced: Příbram, Politických vězňů

505 (closure of J. A. Alise Square from 11 June (15:00) to 14 June (24:00) – towards Orlov: from the “Příbram, Březové Hory’ stop – K Dolu Marie – Kladenská – Politických vězňů and then continuing along its usual route. 393, 395 – on the section between the stops “III. poliklinika – Čs. armády” in both directions, diverted via Březnická Street. The stop “Příbram, II. poliklinika” is cancelled.

502 – on the section between the stops “Zdaboř,nem. – Čs. armády” in both directions, diverted via Březnická, Seifertova and Karla Kryla streets. The following stops are cancelled: “Příbram, Kladenská”, “Příbram, nám. 17. listopadu”, “Příbram, II. poliklinika”, “Příbram, Na Cihelně”. 507 – from the Drkolnov stop, the route runs directly along K. Kryla, Seifertova and Březnická streets to Čs. armády and then continues along its usual route (applies only to one service heading towards the industrial estate). 521 – from the stop ‘Karla Pobudy – Žežická – Karla Kryla – Seifertova – Březnická’ to the stop ‘Čs. armády’ and then continuing along its usual route (applies to only one service travelling from Rožmitál). The following stops are cancelled: “Příbram, Kladenská”, “Příbram, nám. 17. listopadu”, “Příbram, II. poliklinika”, “Příbram, Na Cihelně”. The following stop is introduced: “Příbram, Archiv”.

Saturday 13 June, 11.30–14.00 (road closure during the parade)

392 – from the coach station – via I/18, Evropská Street – III/11417, continuing on its usual route and returning in the opposite direction. The following stops are cancelled: ‘Příbram, Jiráskovy sady’, ‘Příbram, Fibichova’.

395, 754 – from the coach station – via I/18, Evropská Street – I/18H, Evropská Street – I/18H, then continuing on their usual route and returning in the opposite direction. The following stops are cancelled: “Příbram, Jiráskovy sady”, “Příbram, Žižkova”, “Příbram, Sevastopolské nám.”, “Příbram, Nová Hospoda”.

500 – on the section “Příbram, bus station – Příbram, Sázky” in both directions, the route is diverted via Čs. armády, Březnická and Milínská streets. The following stops are cancelled: “Příbram, Milínská”, “Příbram, Milínská-Mixova” towards Příbram, bus station. The following stop is introduced: “Příbram, Čs. armády”.

501 – to the ‘Příbram, Nový rybník’ stop as usual; from there, via Březnická Street – Příbram bus station – alight. In the opposite direction, boarding takes place at the “Příbram, bus station (on Čs. armády Street)” stop – directly via Březnická Street to the “Příbram, Nový rybník” stop and then continuing along its usual route. The following stops are cancelled: “Příbram, Barandov”, “Příbram, pod Kaňkou”, “Příbram, Milínská-Mixova”, “Příbram, Milínská”, “Příbram, nám. 502, 503, 508 – routes shortened and terminated at the ‘Příbram, bus depot’ stop. On the section ‘Příbram, bus depot’ – services to “Příbram, Svatá Hora” are cancelled. Routes 503 and 508 travelling to and from the “Příbram, Nový rybník” stop will run via Čs. armády Street. The following stops are cancelled: “Příbram, Svatá Hora”, “Příbram, Jiráskovy sady”, “Příbram, Balbínova”, “Příbram, nám. 506 – the route is shortened and terminates at the ‘Příbram, nemocnice’ stop. The following are cancelled: all stops on the section between ‘Svatá Hora areál’ and ‘Jiráskovy sady’ (inclusive).

517 – no changes up to the ‘Háje’ stop; from there, directly to the ‘Příbram, aut.nádr. (ul. Čs.armády)’ stop, then continuing along its usual route and returning in the opposite order. The following stops are cancelled: “Příbram, U Míků”, “Příbram, Hájecká”, “Příbram, Svatá Hora”, “Příbram, Balbínova”, “Příbram, Jiráskovy sady”.

531 – to the ‘Příbram, Jinecká’ stop as usual, then along Evropská Street to the ‘Příbram, aut.nádr. (ul. Čs. armády)’ stop, continuing on its usual route and returning in the opposite order. The following stops are cancelled: “Příbram, Fibichova”, “Příbram, Jiráskovy sady”.

Saturday 13 June, 15:00–16:00 (procession from the Mining Museum to the Anna Mine)

505 – from the Březové Hory stop, turn right onto K Dolu Marie – right onto Kladenská – left onto Politických vězňů and then continue along its usual route. The following services are cancelled: Příbram, Březové Hory, retirement home – towards Orlov; Příbram, Kladenská – towards Orlov.

508 – from Mariánská Street – turn left onto K Dolu Marie Street – turn left onto I/18 Rožmitálská Street.
