The Senior Point in Příbram has a new pétanque court

Senior Point in Příbram has been running for exactly ten years. Throughout its existence, it has been expanding its activities in many areas, and now has a new pétanque court.

Pétanque – known in Czech as ‘petank’ or ‘koulená’ – is a game that can be played in Příbram, for example at the Nový rybník complex. Members of Senior Point used to go there very often to play.

“Senior Point, under the leadership of Ms Věra Černá, keeps its members active, including through leisure and sporting activities. Following mutual agreement between Senior Point and the town, we have built a new pétanque court on the organisation’s premises at 193 Žežická Street,” says Deputy Mayor Miroslav Peterka

Příbram’s Senior Point is the only organisation of its kind in the Central Bohemian Region. Last year, the organisation held 176 events, attended by nearly 9,000 senior citizens. Activities include regular educational programmes such as language courses and memory training, as well as sightseeing and cultural programmes and, of course, physical activities, which have now been expanded to include the aforementioned game of pétanque.
