A landslide has blocked the road along Nádražní Street
During the torrential downpour in June, the kerb on Nádražní Street was damaged and a landslide occurred.
Traffic through the street was restricted, and fixed barriers have now been installed to prevent drivers from ignoring the restrictions.
The landslide on the road embankment above the railway line is the reason why traffic through Nádražní Street has been restricted. The section of the street affected by the damage will remain closed until the proposed course of action has been finalised and the repairs carried out.
“Traffic signs had previously been installed on this street, but unfortunately many drivers failed to observe them. In view of the extent of the damage to the road and the risk of further landslides, fixed barriers have been installed on site following consultation with the traffic police. These barriers have been installed for safety reasons. We will now be carrying out a structural assessment of the road and drawing up plans to stabilise the slope and repair the road. “It should be noted here that we are operating within the railway protection zone, and furthermore, access is via land that is not owned by the town,” says Deputy Mayor Miroslav Peterka.
The traffic restrictions apply to the section of the street running from the railway footbridge towards Husova Street. Barriers have been installed in the area affected by the landslide, and access to properties on the street in question is secured.
