New surfacing on the access road to Svatá Hora

The renovation of the access road to Svatá Hora is complete – the road surface on Svatohorská alej, in the direction from Balbínova Street, has been resurfaced with cobblestones.

Work on repairing the road on Svatohorská alej began on 24 March, with completion scheduled for the end of May. The tarmac surface was removed and the road has now been resurfaced with cobblestones. The work was completed ahead of schedule and, from 7 May, Svatá Hora will once again be served by public transport services. 

“The resurfacing work progressed more quickly than originally anticipated; everything is now complete and residents can once again use bus services when travelling to Svatá Hora. The new surface better reflects the historical significance of this place,” says First Deputy Mayor Vladimír Karpíšek. 

The area around Svatá Hora has been transformed in recent years: new benches have been installed, the area in front of the café has been landscaped, lighting has been fitted along the route from Mixova Street, and the access road from Balbínova Street is now complete. The path by the arcades remains unrepaired. “I am often asked when we will repair this path. Unfortunately, this section is not owned by the town, so we cannot carry out the necessary repairs,” added Deputy Mayor Karpíšek. 

The reconstruction was carried out by Strabag SIS, a. s., which won the contract with a bid of 4,685,541 CZK including VAT.
