Department of Social Affairs and Health

Description of the department’s activities

• receives and processes applications for financial support from the social affairs and health care sections of the Příbram town budget; carries out its own social work; provides counselling; and undertakes methodological and strategic work within its remit;
• coordinates the provision of specific (specialist) services, the distribution of material support or the provision of care to residents of the Příbram municipality with extended powers,
• implements the rules laid down for the letting of social housing owned by the city and special-purpose flats,
• coordinates the activities of the Health and Social Affairs Committee.

The Department analyses the needs of the population within its administrative area, provides information, advice, preventative and educational services, and cooperates with public authorities and non-governmental organisations in the realisation of rights or the provision of support to citizens within its jurisdiction.

The department deals with offences and other administrative offences in the areas of social affairs (social and legal protection of children), healthcare, and alcohol and non-alcoholic substance abuse, committed within the territory of the municipality with extended powers.
