Description of the department’s activities

• comprehensively processes applications for admission to a care home for approval,
• in the event of a death within the city limits, it arranges for a state funeral to take place,
• acts as a public guardian,
• coordinates the provision and quality of social services, prepares documentation for applications from providers seeking registration or an increase in social service capacity,
• arranges for citizens to be placed in social or healthcare facilities,
• comprehensively processes applications for the allocation of social housing in accordance with internal regulations, carries out other activities in the field of affordable housing,
• prepares opinions at the request of the Jobcentre in accordance with the Act on Assistance in Material Need,
• carries out coordination work within the Health and Social Affairs Committee,
• monitors opportunities for obtaining financial support in the health and social sectors, contributes to the administrative processing of specialist documentation for submitting applications and drawing down grants from various funding schemes,
• coordinates strategic planning in the field of social inclusion, leads working groups and provides project consultancy in this area,
• issues ZTP and ZTP/P cards to persons who have been granted special benefits of Level II or III,
• prepares supporting documents for the issuance of decisions or opinions in accordance with the Social Services Act, the Act on Assistance in Material Need, or the Act on State Social Support;
• carries out outreach social work and municipal social work in accordance with the Social Services Act, and prepares standardised records; provides support for older people and people with disabilities, with an emphasis on identifying and meeting their needs, monitoring the quality of services provided, offering advice and proposing preventive activities or measures to be taken,
• performs the duties of a social worker (adult social worker), providing counselling, socio-therapeutic and social support to citizens in overcoming difficult life situations and in their integration into society; clients are also sought out in their natural environment; social work focuses primarily on assisting with employment, securing suitable housing, ensuring access to social benefits, etc.,
• monitors the availability and quality of social services for residents of the ORP administrative area, provides advice, and, where care is lacking, submits proposals to public authorities, including requests for inspections of the quality of social services;
• it oversees the operations of the so-called ‘Příbram Housing Office’, which provides advice on affordable/subsidised housing within the city limits;

• in accordance with the Act on Addictive Substances, as amended by the Decree of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, ensures the printing and distribution of prescription forms for medicinal products containing Group I narcotic substances and Group II psychotropic substances (request forms and prescriptions with a blue stripe).

• An authorised employee deals with offences and administrative offences in the areas of the social and legal protection of children, healthcare, and alcohol and non-alcoholic substance abuse committed within the territory of the municipality with extended powers. • The designated officer acts as the local Roma adviser, coordinating the fulfilment of tasks that support the exercise of rights by members of the Roma community and their integration into society. Contact person: Bc. Marie Přibylová
