The Silmet Rally Příbram will take place this coming weekend
Friday 24 and Saturday 25 July will be a treat for all motor racing fans – that’s when the 45th Silmet Rally Příbram takes place.
Preparations for the rally, which was first held in 1979 and has been run annually ever since, with a few minor exceptions, are now in their final stages. So what can we expect from the 45th Silmet Rally Příbram? The event kicks off on Friday 24 July with a pre-race show on T. G. Masaryk Square – the supporting programme begins at 5.00 pm, followed by the presentation of the crews and an autograph session with the drivers at 7.00 pm.
The main programme – the race itself, featuring eight special stages and more than 120 registered crews – will begin on Saturday 25 July. “The start and finish of the race will once again be at T. G. Masaryk Square in Příbram this year. The crews will begin taking their places on the starting ramp from 9.00 am, and once the entire race has been completed, they will return to the finish line in the town centre shortly after 5.00 pm,” says Mayor Jan Konvalinka.
The town of Příbram has again supported the race this year with a grant of 200,000 CZK.
Traffic restrictions:
- on Thursday 23 July from 12.00, it will not be possible to park in front of the Job Centre on T. G. Masaryk Square due to the construction of the starting ramp; on Friday and Saturday, the square will be cleared
of parked vehicles - On Friday 24 July from 3.00 pm to 9.00 pm and on Saturday 25 July from 8.00 to 12.00 and from 16.00 to 20.00, T. G. Masaryk Square will be closed, and it will not be possible to drive along the road from the Job Centre towards the Příbram
Municipal Police - During the pre-race show, the start of the race and the finish, the I/66 regional road will also be closed from the roundabout at T. G. Masaryk Square to the junction with Dlouhá Street. On Friday 24 July, the closure will be in place from 3.00 pm to 9.00 pm; on Saturday 25 July, the closure is scheduled from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm. This closure will also affect bus routes 500, 501, 503, 507, 508 and 565, which will follow a diversion via Březnická and Čs. armády streets during the times mentioned. Bus route 514 travelling from Dobříš will be shortened and will terminate at the ‘Borotice, rozc.’
stop. - For routes 501, 503 and 565, the ‘Příbram, nám. T.G.M.’ stop on Milínská Street will be relocated to the ‘Příbram, Plzeňská’ stop. The “Příbram, Milínská” stop is being relocated in both directions for all routes to the “Příbram, Československé armády” stop. The stops “Příbram, Barandov”; “Příbram, Pod Kaňkou” and “Příbram, Milínská – Mixova” are cancelled in both directions for all routes. On route 501, the ‘Příbram, Mixova’, ‘Příbram, Sázky’ and ‘Příbram, Slivických bojovníků’ stops are also being cancelled. On route 500, the stop ‘Příbram, aut. nádr.’ (on Čs. armády Street) is cancelled.
