Charlotte Masaryk’s lime tree in Litavka Forest Park is a hundred years old
Since 2015, the Charlotte Masaryková lime tree has also been listed amongst the memorable trees of the Příbram region; it was planted on 25 April 1926, exactly one hundred years ago.
On Saturday 25 April, it will be exactly one hundred years since Charlotte Masaryk’s lime tree was planted in what is now Litavka Forest Park. The small-leaved lime was planted during the so-called ‘tree-planting ceremony’ in memory of the wife of the first President of the Czechoslovak Republic.
This lime tree was designated a memorial tree in 2015, owing to its impressive growth, its prominence and the aforementioned historical significance. At the time of its designation, it stood 24 metres tall and its circumference at a height of 130 cm above the ground was 305 cm.
You can find the lime tree during your walks through Litavka Forest Park, not far from the ‘Pod lípou’ pond: 49°40'12.205"N, 13°57'52.314"E.
