List of activities

Pursuant to Act No. 201/2012 Coll., on Air Protection, as amended (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Act’), administrative activities in the field of air protection are carried out by:

• monitors compliance by operators of stationary sources with their obligations under the Act;
• checks that no material other than dry material uncontaminated by chemical substances is being burnt in open fireplaces;
• checks that no materials or fuels other than those specified by the manufacturer of the stationary source or set out in the operating licence are being burnt in stationary sources;
• receives reports and notifications of breaches of the law and, within the scope of its powers, conducts investigations;
• imposes corrective measures on operators of stationary sources who fail to fulfil their statutory obligations or, where appropriate, issues a decision to suspend the operation of the stationary source;
• hears cases concerning administrative offences committed by natural persons and imposes fines;
• hears cases concerning administrative offences committed by legal entities and self-employed individuals in connection with the operation of unlisted sources and imposes fines.
