Application for patronage

The patronage of the town of Příbram is an expression of interest and a form of moral support for the organisers of cultural, sporting and other activities for the public good within the town. The granting of patronage does not entitle the applicant to financial or other material support, unless otherwise decided by the competent authority.

Procedure for granting the patronage of the town of Příbram

The patronage of the City of Příbram may be granted to significant and exceptional social, cultural, sporting, educational and other events of general benefit taking place within the city limits. Events are considered important and beneficial if their organisation enhances the town’s prestige and appeals to significant sections of the public, such as festivals, performances, concerts, shows, exhibitions and competitions, which promote the values of freedom, democracy, justice and humanity, significant artistic expressions or activities by sections of the public deserving of support. The granting of the town’s patronage lends them gravitas and significance.

The conditions for granting patronage are as follows:

1. fulfilment of the above-mentioned requirements
2. a commitment that information regarding the granting of patronage will be included on all related materials (e.g. leaflets, posters, invitations, catalogues, etc.),
3. information about the patronage must be presented at the event itself and in the media,
4. the town’s logo must be included, provided authorisation for its use is granted, on promotional materials in an appropriate size and in a suitable position.

Patronage is granted on the basis of a written application from the event organiser, provided that the above conditions are met. The application must be addressed to the mayor of the town for whose patronage is being sought. The application must include as much information as possible that is relevant to the assessment of the event in question; see the application template. Applications are collected and processed by the Department of Communication and Tourism at Příbram Town Hall. The mayor of Příbram decides on the granting of the town’s patronage following discussion at a meeting of the mayor’s advisory board. He informs the Town Council of his decision at the next meeting. Patronage is granted in writing in the form of a notice of patronage. Organisers of events for which the town has granted patronage may be granted permission to use the Příbram town logo* for promotional and representative purposes in connection with the organisation of the event. This must be stated in the application.

* Consent to use the town’s logo is granted by the Department of Communications and Tourism on the basis of an authorisation from the Příbram Town Council.
