Pribram.eu About the town For investors
For investors
Investors have long been interested in Příbram. The town now wishes to offer them the opportunity to build in selected locations, in order to promote the concept of short distances and enhance its appeal to both existing and new residents. The aim is to develop selected areas and encourage the creation of affordable housing.
Příbram has a clear vision: a partnership-based dialogue with investors and collaboration on the town’s development where it makes the most sense. “We want to be a town that attracts people to live and do business here. We are taking proactive steps towards this and striving to create a pro-investment environment that will motivate developers in Příbram whilst also compensating the town for certain costs associated with infrastructure development,” said Jan Konvalinka, Mayor of Příbram.
An economic and urban planning analysis helped to identify the sites to which the city wishes to direct investors. “To begin with, we assessed nearly two hundred selected sites in Příbram in terms of their potential for housing development, the availability of essential services and associated community facilities. This resulted in a shortlist of ten sites that could be considered for new development with the city’s support,” explained the author of the analysis, urban economist Vít Zeman, who has a long-standing collaboration with the law firm Frank Bold Advokáti.
On Wednesday 10 September 2025, the Příbram City Council approved the Principles of Cooperation with Investors, which provide a transparent framework for future development projects. The document was drawn up in collaboration with the law firm Frank Bold and reflects a comprehensive urban-economic analysis of almost 200 sites within the city.
Such Principles for Investors are already in place in many Czech cities. Jihlava was the first statutory city to introduce them, followed by Pardubice, Říčany, Liberec, Břeclav, as well as Brno and Prague. “Jihlava adopted the Guidelines in 2020. Since then, over 20 agreements have been concluded here for the provision of investment grants totalling 60 million crowns. In the same year as Jihlava, Břeclav also adopted the Principles; there, the rules have since been applied to around ten projects,” said Martin Fadrný, a consultant at Frank Bold Advokáti.
