Basic information:

A Significant Landscape Feature (VKP) is a part of the landscape of ecological, geomorphological or aesthetic value which shapes its characteristic appearance or contributes to maintaining its stability. In addition to VKPs designated ‘by law’, they may include parts of the landscape registered by the nature conservation authority. These may include wetlands, steppe grasslands, hedgerows, field margins, permanent grassland, sites containing minerals and fossils, artificial and natural rock formations, outcrops and exposures, valuable areas of vegetation in built-up areas, including historic gardens and parks, etc.

Who is authorised to submit an application, notification, etc.:

The nature conservation authority may initiate administrative proceedings on the basis of a proposal or on its own initiative.

Other parties to the proceedings:

Owners and co-owners of the land, or those whose rights, legally protected interests or obligations are to be dealt with in the proceedings, or whose rights, legally protected interests or obligations may be affected by the decision. The local authority is always a party to the proceedings.

  • Decree of the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic No. 395/1992 Coll., implementing certain provisions of Act No. 114/1992 Coll., as amended,
  • Act No. 500/2004 Coll., the Administrative Procedure Code, as amended.

Administrative (or other) fee:

No administrative fee is charged for the issuance of a decision.

Remedies:

The proper remedy is an appeal. The decision issued contains instructions on how to appeal, specifying the time limit for lodging an appeal, the authority to which it should be addressed, and where the appeal may be lodged.
