The open space for the small park was preserved when the detached houses on the street of the same name were built before the start of the Second World War.
In the 1970s, the first residents of the houses on Mánesova Street and other members of the allotment gardeners’ association helped to plant ornamental trees and shrubs.
In the lowest part of the park, near the seating area with benches, stands a sandstone sculpture entitled ‘Lovers in the Rain’. The artist, M. Hruška, created the sculpture right here on the spot.
The best time to visit the ‘Gardens’ is in spring and early summer, when numerous birds nest in the crowns of the trees and shrubs and their song can be heard long into the night.
