Shooting Range
The park, covering an area of 2.25 hectares, was planted on the initiative of Baron Wolfgang Julius von Schönau in 1840–41 on the fields surrounding the town’s shooting club’s range (known as the ‘Střelovna’). The shooting range stood here from 1837 until the 1950s.
In the central part of the park, a building that originally served as the town spa still stands today. Likewise, a wooden pavilion still stands here, which was erected in front of the spa building as a memorial to the 1884 trade exhibition. Well into the early 20th century, concerts were still held there on Sundays, adding to the enjoyment of the people of Příbram as they strolled through the park.
Visitors can enjoy walks along a network of paths winding their way through more than three hundred centuries-old trees. The park is home mainly to oaks and horse-chestnuts.
In 2014, the trees underwent comprehensive treatment and new trees and shrubs were planted.
There is a playground with play equipment for children.
