Freedom Avenue 2021 in Příbram

The town of Příbram has won a grant from the Partnership Foundation, which is organising the fourth edition of its ‘Planting the Future’ project – a travelling initiative to plant symbolic ‘Velvet Revolution’ avenues. As a result, the Avenue of Freedom will be planted near the former Vojna prison in Lešetice, which once held political opponents of the communist regime.

• Date of the event: 13 November 2021         
• Planting location: The dirt track leading from the village of Vojna to the village of Zavržice and the Vojna Memorial. One of the trees will be symbolically planted directly within the memorial grounds.
• Objective: To protect the soil from erosion, retain water in the landscape, and pay symbolic tribute to those who suffered at this site.

The public can support the creation of the avenue by taking part in the planting itself or through a public fundraising campaign. You can register as a volunteer or make a donation directly on the foundation’s website. 

How can you get involved?

• Work as a volunteer,
• buy a metre in the Avenue of Freedom for 500 Kč,
• buy a single tree for 5,000 Kč,
• donate any amount towards the purchase of trees and the organisation of the planting,
• join the event’s partners with your company, local authority or organisation; email us at info@sazimebudoucnost.cz,
• set up a fundraising challenge with your colleagues, staff or clients,

The proceeds from the fundraising campaign will be used to organise the planting, purchase trees, carry out planting work, provide expert supervision and supply tools. People can support the creation of the tree-lined avenue through this public fundraising campaign.
