Specially Protected Areas

The administrative area of the Příbram Municipal Authority, acting as
the local authority with extended powers, includes:

Nature reserves

Nature reserves are smaller areas of concentrated natural value, featuring ecosystems that are typical of and significant for the relevant geographical area.

  • Getsemanka I, II

These are two areas situated within the cadastral districts of Hutě pod Řemšínem and Věšín. They cover an area of 15.40 ha and 12.36 ha respectively. The reserves are characterised by native Brdy mountain forests (beech, sycamore, milk-weed, elm, ash and, sparsely, fir) amidst coniferous monocultures.

  • Kuchyňka

The steep scree slope of the Kuchyňka peak (635.6 m) in the cadastral area of Pičín. It covers an area of 21.18 ha. The reserve was designated due to its typical natural forest ecosystem on scree slopes, featuring a rich variety of flora and fauna.

  • On the Rocks

A typical complex of ecosystems comprising an old, in places sparse, mixed forest on a rocky, boulder-strewn ridge. It is situated in the cadastral area of Věšín and covers an area of 23.31 ha.

Natural monuments

A natural monument is a natural feature of a smaller area, particularly a geological or geomorphological formation, or a site containing rare minerals or endangered species within fragments of ecosystems.

  • Hřebenec

A prominent peak and adjoining sea of stones in the cadastral districts of Hutě pod Třemšínem and Roželov. The area covers 9.76 ha. The protected area consists of an exposed rock outcrop forming a significant geomorphological feature, covered with relict pine forest.

  • In the Mountains

This natural monument lies within the cadastral area of Křešín, covering a total area of 4.76 ha. It is a significant, extensive and species-rich site for the meadow pasque flower, the common orchid and
the common juniper.

  • Třemešný Hill

A well-preserved hillside forest with rich undergrowth and small fauna. The site was designated due to the presence of the poisonous monkshood. It is situated in the Voltuš cadastral area and covers a total area
of 2.07 ha.

  • Vineyard

A valuable stratigraphic profile with rich finds of Cambrian fauna, particularly trilobites. It is situated in the cadastral area of Běřín, with an area of 43.18 ha.
