To Klobouček and Třemošná

From Orlová to Obecnice via Třemošná and Klobouček

Length: 12.8 km; walkers, cyclists, skiers, children; moderately challenging; 4–5 hours on foot

Route description:
From Orlov, follow the blue circular walking trail towards Orlov; at the junction (1), take the path to Kazatelna (views), (4) and on to the summit of Třemošná (779 m, summit logbook, limited views, 2 km), (5).

Continue along the blue TZT trail to the Nad Slaninou junction (6). Here, leave the trail and continue along the Třemošná forest track to the Obecnické saddle (also known as ‘Rovina’) (7).

From there, follow the Buršovská forest track straight on to the U Můstku area (8), just below the southern tip of the Tok nature reserve. Along the way, take the right-hand bend and descend to the junction with the Obrázecká forest track (9).

Follow this path to the Kloboučecké Saddle (10) and from there take a short detour (150 m) to the summit of Klobouček (703 m, limited views) (11).

We return to the Obrázecká Trail (12) and descend to the junction with the Kloboučecká forest track (13). We turn onto this path and reach the lovely Sudánka U Kloboučku spring (drinking water) (14).

After about 70 m, turn right off the path and, after about 450 m, you’ll reach the foot of a large rock formation – the Skály pod Kloboučkem frost-weathered rock formation (15) with vertical 20-metre-high walls and a rock spire (a training ground for rock climbers). The forest at the foot of the rocks is a remnant of the original mixed scree forests of the Brdy, comprising beech, fir, ash, maple and spruce (Zone II of the Protected Landscape Area, proposed for designation as a Special Area of Conservation).

We return along the same path to Kloboučecká cesta (16) and follow it down towards Obecnice.

After half a kilometre, we cross an interesting engineering structure – an artificial water channel, the so-called Albrechtský feeder (17), which diverts part of the water from the Albrechtský stream into the Obecnice/Octárna reservoir.

Following Kloboučecká cesta, we’ll reach Obecnice (18 and 19), where there’s a shop, refreshments available at a restaurant, a bus stop for the service to Příbram, and, if required, accommodation in the local guesthouses. In Obecnice, you will also find several buildings showcasing the charming folk architecture of the Podbrdsko region.

Connections to Orlov: from Příbram by public transport, route no. 5A, runs only on weekdays. Unfortunately, at weekends the Orlov district has no public transport services at all.

From Obecnice to Příbram: 15.40 (Saturday); 17.35 (Sunday); there are more services on weekdays.
