Foreign nationals

travel document,
birth certificate with a translation and the relevant certifications,
certificate of legal capacity to marry, including a translation and the necessary certifications,
divorce decree from a previous marriage, with a translation and certification, or a death certificate of the spouse, with a translation,
confirmation of the right to reside in the Czech Republic, issued by the Czech Police: this does not apply to EU citizens, citizens of another contracting state to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, or their family members. This confirmation must not be more than 7 working days old on the date of the marriage.

Basic information

Basic information is provided to the engaged couple by the Registry, Ceremonies and Celebrations Department. The venue for the wedding ceremony should be dignified.

Procedure

A written application by the couple to marry at another suitable venue is assessed on a case-by-case basis depending on the choice of venue. This application must be approved by the Civil Registry Department of the Příbram Municipal Authority.

Processing time

To be agreed on a case-by-case basis with the couple; in other cases, 30 days.

Who is authorised to submit an application, notification, etc.

The engaged couple must submit a completed marriage application form in person at the Registry Office and provide the necessary documents.

Administrative (or other) fee

marriage between fiancés who do not have residence in the Czech Republic – 5,000 CZK,
conclusion of a marriage between fiancés, where only one of them has permanent residence in the Czech Republic – 3,000 CZK,
issuance of a permit to enter into marriage outside the prescribed time or outside an officially designated room – 3,000 CZK.

Příbram Municipal Authority – handles applications for couples from across the Czech Republic, provided they are getting married in the following municipalities within the registry district: Bohutín, Dubenec, Dubno, Háje, Kotenčice, Láz, Lhota u Příbramě, Modřovice, Narysov, Občov, Podlesí, Příbram, Suchodol, Třebsko, Trhové Dušníky, Vysoká u Příbramě.
