Notification of the commencement of a taxi service within the municipality or of a change to an existing taxi service

Required documents and information: An individual must prove their identity with an identity card or passport, together with a substitute document for an identity card; a legal entity and a self-employed person must provide a document certifying their legal status (trade licence, extract from the Commercial Register, etc.). If a representative is acting on behalf of the applicant, they must hold a written power of attorney. It is also necessary to submit, as part of the notification, a copy of the licence – the latest version – and details of the taxi service drivers, including proof of the drivers’ good character and reliability.

Procedure: The notification addressed to the Transport Authority is registered and, following a check for completeness and consideration, a decision is issued; or the relevant document – the taxi driver’s licence – is issued or withdrawn.

Processing time: Within 30 days; in particularly complex cases, within 60 days.

Who is entitled to submit an application: The applicant must be a legal entity or its authorised representative, or a natural person with full legal capacity and entitled to rights and obligations, permanently resident within the administrative district of the municipal authority with extended powers.

Administrative fee: The administrative fee is 1,000 CZK. The administrative fee must be paid at the office’s cash desk prior to the issue of the decision and licence.

Remedies: An appeal may be lodged with the Regional Authority of the Central Bohemian Region via the Transport Authority of the Příbram Municipal Authority. An appeal may be lodged within 15 days of the date of receipt of the decision.

Note: In the event of a taxi service operator failing to comply with the obligations laid down in Act No. 111/1994 Coll., on Road Transport, a penalty of up to CZK 750,000 may be imposed on them in administrative proceedings.
