To create a space that local people will visit frequently and make full use of throughout the seasons. A space for markets, cultural events and Christmas celebrations, but also for everyday get-togethers in the shade of the trees or in a café.

It is equally important to work sensitively with the city’s natural elements – namely vegetation and, above all, water. To make the most of their aesthetic qualities whilst also using them to help cool the square on hot summer days.
