Spatial Development Programme for the period 2007 to 2013

At its meeting on 11 October 2006, the Příbram City Council discussed and approved, by Resolution No. 2099/2006/ZM, the comprehensive strategic document ‘Programme for the Spatial Development of the City of Příbram’ (PÚR), which became the town’s fundamental development plan for the period 2007–2013.

Its main purpose is to update the town’s objectives for its overall development – the strategic section of the document – and also to create a database of project ideas, which will help to increase opportunities for accessing various forms of financial support, grants and similar interventions, both for the town itself and for other entities operating within its territory, such as businesses across a wide range of sectors, schools, non-governmental non-profit organisations, associations, societies, etc. It is only through the implementation of these ideas and the execution of specific initiatives, activities and projects that the objectives of all development plans and strategies are truly fulfilled, including this development plan for the town of Příbram with its five priority areas: infrastructure, business and tourism, environmental protection and enhancement, and regeneration of the living environment, human resources, and partnership.

The external contractor for the PÚR was the Office for Economic and Financial Consultancy in České Budějovice, which had previously collaborated with the town on a number of specific projects. The plan was drawn up in collaboration with, and with the creative input of, the city’s leadership, representatives of the city council, city organisations, representatives of the business sector, non-governmental organisations and the city’s residents.

By a resolution of the City Council, the conclusion of the preliminary assessment carried out by the Department of the Environment and Agriculture of the Regional Authority of the Central Bohemian Region dated 26 July 2006, ref. no. 80783/2006/KÚSK, pursuant to Section 10g(4) of Act No. 100/2001 Coll., on Environmental Impact Assessment, as amended, concerning the proposed ‘Spatial Development Programme for the City of Příbram’.

At the same time, the 1997 Strategic Plan for the City of Příbram ceased to be valid.
