Pribram.eu About the town PŘÍBRAM CHALLENGE
PŘÍBRAM CHALLENGE
At present, the town of Příbram does not engage with secondary school pupils in any particularly strategic way. Whilst it does involve them in individual activities and projects, it does not maintain any long-term dialogue with them. As a result, the town council’s awareness of the issues and views of the younger generation is very limited and rather piecemeal. The town cannot implement progressive visions because it is simply unaware of them.
Students see things differently from the town council. They are not constrained by bureaucratic decision-making processes, so they are free to come up with new perspectives and more creative solutions.
The solution is to offer students a platform where real-world problems can be tackled. Each year, the focus will be on a different area. Thanks to the Příbram Challenge project, students have the opportunity to play a direct part in shaping the place where they will one day live.
The environment was chosen as the theme for the pilot year of the challenge.
