Anor

A twinning agreement was signed with this French town on 7 May 2005. Relations between Příbram and Anor are developing, particularly in the field of education. A series of youth camps (multilateral youth meetings) is taking place between the towns of Anor, Aken (Germany), Příbram and Gizalki (Poland). These are ten-day gatherings of groups of ten to twelve young people, which take place in three-year cycles, rotating between each of the countries mentioned. The Příbram Business Academy and Higher Vocational School have been collaborating on this initiative since 2002. Students from the Waldorf School also took part in the first three-year cycle. The programme consists partly of community service (in the form of unpaid voluntary work) and partly of exploring the region’s cultural and historical sites, spending free time together, discussions with prominent local figures, and lectures and discussions on current topics. Through all these activities, students have an excellent opportunity to improve their language skills and learn about the way of life and views of young people from other countries.
