Renovation of the atrium in the Zámeček – Ernestinum building

As part of the project ‘Reconstruction of the atrium in the Zámeček – Ernestinum building’, work will be carried out to repair the façade of the atrium in the Zámeček – Ernestinum building. The following structural alterations will be carried out on the atrium’s façades. Existing loose plaster will be removed, joints will be cleaned, the façade will be washed with pressurised water, and old and loose paint will be stripped. Cement plaster will be removed from the entire surface, and cracks in the plaster will be repaired. The guttering and drainage system will be inspected. Areas affected by algae will be treated. This will be followed by the application of an adhesion primer. The base plasters will be replenished. Surfaces will be levelled with plaster prior to the final coats. A single-component primer will be used for surface finishing and levelling on more complex profiles and decorative elements. In areas exposed to the elements and splashing water (plinths, cornices and other elements), local water-repellent treatment of the surfaces will be carried out prior to the final coat. The surfaces will be finished by saturating the substrate with a coloured primer and applying or spraying a mineral silicate paint free from titanium white. The restoration of the Zámeček atrium’s façades will help to improve the building’s structural and technical properties, whilst also extending its service life. The budget for the entire project includes costs for the refurbishment of external surfaces, scaffolding and construction hoists, metalwork, the removal of rubble and demolition waste, pipework and internal drainage.
