Description of the department’s activities

Under delegated powers

• it ensures the exercise of state administration in the field of education within the administrative district of a municipality with extended powers
• carries out supervisory activities in the field of education
• hears cases concerning administrative offences in the field of education and youth welfare
• it deals with offences in the field of culture and administrative offences under the Copyright Act, as amended, for the administrative area of the municipality with extended powers

Within its independent remit, it is responsible for

• local government activities for the territory of the town of Příbram in the field of education
• the preparation and organisation of celebrations of significant anniversaries in the town and other ceremonial events
• matters relating to the development and implementation of the town’s international relations with other countries
• matters relating to the provision of financial support from the Příbram town budget in the areas of upbringing and education, sport, culture, monuments of local significance, and international and inter-municipal cooperation
• information services for the town’s residents and visitors
