IMPLEMENTATION OF THE LOCAL ACTION PLAN FOR EDUCATION IN THE PŘÍBRAM MUNICIPALITY

In September 2015, the town of Příbram began work on preparing a new project, the Local Action Plan for the Příbram Municipal District (CZ.02.3.68/0.0/0.0/015_005/0000118), which is 95 per cent funded by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport under the Research, Development and Education Operational Programme (OP VVV), with the remaining 5 per cent co-financed by the town of Příbram together with the project’s financial partner, MAS Podbrdsko, z.s. The
Local Action Plan (MAP) will focus primarily on the development of high-quality education for children and pupils up to the age of 15. The aim of the project is to improve the quality of education in nursery and primary schools by supporting cooperation between school authorities, schools and other stakeholders in education, i.e. through joint information-sharing, training and the planning of partnership activities to address specific local problems and needs.

The call for proposals for this project was announced on 8 September 2015. The applicant for this call is the town of Příbram. MAS Podbrdsko and the Voluntary Association of Municipalities of the Příbram ORP (DSO) are project partners. The “MAP ORP Příbram” project will be implemented across the entire territory of the Příbram ORP, with the exception of the municipalities of Kamýk nad Vltavou and Solenice, which, due to their school catchment areas, have been assigned to the Sedlčany ORP. The project commenced on 1 May 2016 and will run for 18 months, i.e. until 31 October 2017.

The project implementation team is currently approaching representatives of individual primary, nursery and art schools within the Příbram ORP. The expected outcome of the Local Action Plan is an agreement on the priorities of education policy in the area, known as the MAP Strategic Framework up to 2023. Furthermore, a set of activities will be developed, proposing specific solutions to local problems within the agreed priorities.

These activities may subsequently be used in applications for funding from foundations, local authorities, regional and national grant schemes, or other operational programmes.

A secondary objective of the local action planning process is to support the collection of information to determine the focus of funding from the OP VVV and the Integrated Regional Operational Programme (IROP).

In the case of the IROP, compliance with the MAP ORP Příbram project will be a mandatory annex to the application for funding; nursery and primary schools will therefore now have the opportunity to influence the wording of the document and thus prepare to draw down grants from the IROP in the field of education.
