The Příbram Svatohorská Shalmay 2021

The Svatohorská Šalmaj is an event that attracts widespread public interest. In 2021, the fourteenth edition took place on 11 September 2021. As in previous years, it was packed with period bands, creative workshops, theatre performances and crafts. Every year, this medieval event attracts more and more visitors, not only from Příbram but from across the region.

Around 25 performing bands, jugglers, groups and artists took to the two stages. These were complemented by 40 stalls and activity stations (archery, medieval cuisine, horse riding, etc.) with creative workshops (wreath-making, painting on canvas bags, etc.), as well as stalls and workshops for both children and adults.

Šalmaj is a traditional gathering of neighbours and acquaintances in the historic setting of Svatá Hora, which is transformed for a few hours into a medieval market, town square and stage. It is an opportunity to catch up with friends you haven’t seen all year, whilst the event is also open to the general public and people of all ages from other towns and regions.

Visitors to the Příbram Svatá Hora Šalmaj associate their visit and participation in the event not only with a glimpse into medieval times, but also with a tour of Svatá Hora, a historic and pilgrimage site in the town of Příbram.
