Installation of litter bins at Svatá Hora in Příbram

Project titleInstallation of litter bins at Svatá Hora in Příbram
KUSKProgramme to support information centres in the Central Bohemian Region for 2021
Brief description of the project

The project involved the installation of four litter bins in the vicinity of the Svatá Hora pilgrimage site, a national cultural monument. As part of the ‘Renovation of Benches at Svatá Hora’ project, which was successful in the participatory budgeting process in 2018, litter bins from the company mmcité were installed, model MIU015r – with a roof, designed for wall mounting, and MIU215r – with a roof, built into the ground. This project therefore represents a continuation and the next stage in the revitalisation of this area. The locations chosen for the installation are situated near the Svatohorská café and the Svatá Hora bus stop.

The aim was to enhance and complement the surroundings of the Svatá Hora national cultural monument, which is the main tourist attraction of the town of Příbram.

The Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary at Svatá Hora, a national cultural monument, is a significant Baroque complex and a Marian pilgrimage site of European importance. Svatá Hora underwent extensive restoration in 2015. It is one of the stops on the European Way of St James pilgrimage route, and cycle route No. 8195 runs in the immediate vicinity of this pilgrimage site. For this reason, the town of Příbram strives to contribute regularly and systematically to the revitalisation of the area within the conservation zone. Making the surroundings of this monument more attractive may indirectly help to increase visitor numbers.
