| Brief description of the project | The town of Příbram organised a series of events as part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Czechoslovak Republic. One of these was the ‘Experience It Again’ project. The aim of the project was to commemorate and celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the Republic in a unique way. The event took place on 24 October 2018, as this date coincided with the official celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the independent republic, namely the planting of a lime tree, a wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial by the Zámeček – Ernestinum and on J. A. Alis Square in Březové Hory, and a festive organ concert at Svatá Hora. The ‘Experience It Again’ project thus became part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the Czechoslovak Republic in Příbram. The project lasted the whole day and took place in T.G. Masaryk Square. In the morning, it was aimed at pupils from primary and secondary schools in Příbram, whilst in the afternoon it was open to the general public. As part of the project, children were able to experience a lesson with a teacher at a primary school, complete with period-style scenery and desks, which had been loaned from the Barrandov Film Studios. Visitors could visit a stylish First Republic-era café and sample T.G. Masaryk’s favourite coffee and pastries. There was an exhibition showcasing the evolution of banknotes and their real-world value over time; visitors were shown examples of what could be bought with those banknotes at the time. The event also featured a 3D virtual reality experience, which allowed those interested to learn about the events leading up to the establishment of the republic, beginning on the eve of 28 October and ending with President Masaryk’s arrival in Prague in December 1918. Visitors could also experience a virtual tour of Prague as it was at the time. Historical exhibits (such as a Laurin & Klement car) were also on display. The day also featured an accompanying stage programme. In the morning, pupils from primary and art schools in Příbram performed. In the afternoon, the programme continued in a style befitting the spirit of the First Republic.
