Novák Fest

On 16 June 2019, the town of Příbram organised a major event called ‘Novák Fest’ at the newly renovated Nový rybník leisure complex. This event followed on from ‘Novák 800’, ‘Sports Day’ and ‘Family Fest’, which had been held at this venue in previous years.

The “Novák Fest” was aimed at children and families alike. Throughout the day, visitors were able to enjoy a range of activities with a sporting, cultural and educational focus. The entire site was divided into five zones – adrenaline, science, creativity, sport and children’s. As the names suggest, these zones were dedicated to creating, playing and exploring. The entire Nový rybník site was utilised, including the adjacent skatepark and open-air cinema, where a full day’s programme took place. Children tried their hand at simple experiments and various sporting disciplines, and were able to take home their own creations or enjoy a cultural experience at the open-air cinema. 

Primary and art schools in Příbram, sports clubs and subsidised organisations were actively involved in organising the event. Entry to the event was completely free. Refreshments, a music programme, a festival of local microbreweries, a photo booth and other activities were also on offer.

The aim of the event was to introduce children and their parents to the leisure activities on offer in the town of Příbram. Residents were able to enjoy an interesting programme and, where they wished, get directly involved in the various activities that had been organised.
