Family Fest

On 23 June 2018, the town of Příbram organised a major event called ‘Family Fest’ at the newly renovated Nový rybník leisure complex. This event followed on from the “Novák 800” and “Sports Day” events held over the past two years. As the name suggests, “Family Fest” was aimed at the whole family.  The programme took place across three zones – for women, men and children. There was something for everyone who loves exercise, entertainment and lifestyle activities. Women could try out beauty treatments, take part in a cookery demonstration, watch a fashion show and exercise together. In the men’s area of the park, there was a showcase of small breweries, as well as a fun, sporting lumberjack and strength-based show. The Junior Fest programme was designed for both young children and teenagers. With the help of various performers, the children learnt the basics of magic, practised simple dance routines for the youngest children, and developed their creative skills in around 10 creative workshops. Family Fest also encouraged the development of sporting skills – parents and children tried out several types of yoga, whilst also practising the basics of skateboarding in the adjacent skatepark, jumping on trampolines and taking part in ‘games without borders’, where they had to overcome various obstacles on inflatable attractions. A photo booth was also available, where visitors could have a family photo taken as a souvenir. In addition to the above, they also had the opportunity to take part in talks with interesting personalities – such as a leading Czech YouTuber, an animal psychologist, and others.

The day-long programme culminated in a concert featuring contemporary pop stars (David Deyl, Slza, ABBA Stars and Petra Janů) and a fireworks display. Several thousand visitors attended the event. The day-long event was free of charge and therefore accessible to all residents.
