| Brief description of the project | The aim of the project was to implement an energy-saving scheme at a care home, in accordance with the recommendations of an energy auditor. The project focused on improving the thermal performance of individual building elements (external wall insulation, bricking up of window reveals and their subsequent insulation). Furthermore, the single-layer roof and ceiling structures were insulated. The old metal windows and sheet metal doors at the top of the stairwell were replaced. The aim of the project was to reduce the building’s energy consumption – which had previously been inefficient in this respect – through the proposed energy-saving measures. The measures implemented resulted in the building achieving a low-energy or higher energy efficiency standard and a reduction in emissions. |
