Procurement of a tanker fire engine under a framework agreement
| Project title | Procurement of a water-tank fire engine under a framework agreement |
| Grant provider | Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic |
| Brief description of the project | For the town of Příbram, the issue of fire safety and the protection of residents is one of the highest priorities. The procurement of the item covered by the grant is necessary, in particular, to ensure the economical and efficient use of funds from the town’s budget. The unit currently uses a CAS 32 – T815, manufactured in 1985 (hereinafter referred to as the CAS), which is technically obsolete and no longer meets current requirements for the unit’s operational capability. The costs of repairing and maintaining the existing CAS are rising every year. The current CAS has a capacity of 8,200 litres, which is limiting for many operations. The new CAS meets the requirement for a larger water capacity, which is an important criterion in terms of firefighting operations. From this perspective, the purchase of a new fire engine appears to be the most cost-effective solution. The purchase of a new fire engine will also contribute to a more reliable fulfilment of fire protection duties and tasks within the remit assigned by the regional Fire and Rescue Service. The Příbram-Březové Hory Volunteer Fire Brigade is designated to respond to road traffic accidents and to manage emergency situations. The purchase of the item covered by the grant will enhance the Volunteer Fire Brigade’s operational capability and ensure the required level of assistance and protection for the population and property in accordance with the fire emergency plan. Given the age of the existing fire engine, there is a risk of unforeseeable technical breakdowns, which would reduce the unit’s operational capability. The worst-case scenario is that the fire engine would be technically unfit for deployment. |
