Project titleSpatial study for municipalities within the administrative district of the Příbram ORP
Operational ProgrammeIntegrated Regional Operational Programme
Brief description of the project

The aim of the project is to prepare spatial studies not only for the municipality with extended powers (ORP) of Příbram – Hatě district, but also for municipalities within the administrative district of the Příbram ORP – Dolní Hbity, Hvožďany, Kamýk nad Vltavou and Zduchovice. The spatial studies produced will form the basis for the development of existing or new public spaces. Public spaces are where residents interact on a daily basis; they facilitate the establishment and maintenance of informal social contacts, and serve as places for people to spend time, relax and for children to play. The creation or redevelopment of public spaces by the municipalities will help to promote community life in these towns.

Through the implementation of the project, local authorities will gain a basis for coordinated decision-making regarding the redevelopment and design of new public spaces, as well as the harmonisation of the various concepts and rules applied to public spaces. Municipalities will have access to clear guidelines for architects and designers planning public spaces, enabling them to apply standard street furniture and features within urbanistically coherent areas. Safety features, newly designed as part of the spatial study of the municipality’s public spaces, will significantly improve residents’ safety. In general, public spaces define the overall character of a municipality; they are a fundamental element of the spatial organisation of the area and, last but not least, they influence the quality of life within the municipality and in the surrounding built-up areas. Last but not least, we would like to present the concept for public spaces as a clear and accessible document for the residents of the aforementioned municipalities.
